The Bishop Chester's Wood at the rear of St Michael's and All Angel's Church is available for school use. There are a variety of tress in the 'plantation' the river yarrow flows close by and there is an outdoor classroom. Within the grounds there are many sculptures. The grounds are an ideal place to paint, draw, etc. and the variety of trees provide willing subjects. If you would like to use the grounds please contact the Priest in Charge, Rev David Reynolds on 01704 822203 and he will put you in contact with the person who arranges the bookings. We make no charge for this facility but if you would like to make a voluntary contribution towards maintenance it would be gratefully accepted. Here is a selection of photographs showing some of the sculptures. The are all thumbnails. To view a larger picture double click the thumbnail with your mouse.
The above pictures may be used in any place of education for the benefit of young people and adults.
